Media Room

Sevenoaks, Kent

HOME CINEMA BRIEF

The Requirement for this home cinema installation in Sevenoaks, Kent was relatively simple; an upgrade to an existing media room that was easy to control with one remote/smart phone app.  The cinema was located in a converted loft space with its own staircase.

As a refurbishment the room was decorated and soft furnishings specified by an interior designer. The Client had a number of speakers he was keen to retain, but wanted them hidden out of sight along with the rest of the equipment. A new 4K projector was also on the list of requirements for the room.

EQUIPMENT SPECIFICATION

  • Sony VW550 4K Projector
  • ARCAM Amplification & Processor

Meida Room Installation

Circle Automation were first tasked with de-commissioning the existing home cinema system. This included removing the existing projector from its ceiling mount, taking down the surround speakers and storing the existing projection screen whilst the works to the room commenced.

A bespoke piece of joinery was built to cleverly hide the front three speakers and one of the two subwoofers. Acoustically transparent fabric was used as part of the joinery to ensure the sound quality was not compromised. Hidden doors reveal the cinema and control equipment, including blu-ray player, dressed neatly into its dedicated space.

Once the joinery and speakers were installed, our engineers installed the projector and surround/rear channel speakers. Once complete extensive time was taken to calibrate the sound projector to ensure the finished result was of the highest quality.

Using a simple single room solution from Control4 allows the Client to control all of the connected sources, amplifiers & projector through a single remote.  The controller enables a single button to turn the projector on, switch the amplifier to the correct input and change any of the settings on the source device, from Sky box to Blu-Ray player.
